Blindside Nightmare

Blindside Nightmare

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Something that happened to a friend

"

Minding your own business, just trying to get along

When a flash of lightning, a blink of the eye,

And everything's different, life changed forever

You never saw it coming, this blindside nightmare

Brings you to your knees, never ending,

Trapped in this downer with little hope for tomorrow

You never in a million years would have predicted this,

A bad dream that goes on and on and on

Black surrounds you; what is color?  You've forgotten

Yes, it can happen any time. You simply can't prepare for what life is going to do to you. Sometimes it's almost impossible to hang on.

Yeah, it can get quite overwhelming sometimes!
In the blink of an eye anything can happen that will change life forever. It is a fragile thing, this happiness we cling to. A poem to make you think. Nice job.
