Surfing the channels, bored out of my mind

 

I stumbled upon BBC America and decided to

 

Watch for awhile.  Immediately, two things

 

Became clear; I need to get a life,

 

And our mainstream news blows!

 

I know it says BBC America, but it's based

 

On the European model, and oh how

 

Differently the rest of the world views happenings

 

Than America; our media takes a story of interest

 

And drives it both down our throats AND

 

Into the dirt!  They treat us like we're

 

Too ignorant to pay attention beyond the

 

Entertaining 30-second sound bite,

 

                And maybe they're right; the lowest 

Common Denominator; maybe, if after 30 seconds, 

Something doesn't explode or somebody doesn't die,

 

We tune our attention out

Yeah, it's hard to stomach, it's so lame; I recently had to medically retire from the USPS, and I watch a lot of T.V. news, and I never notices how BAD it is!

News is the plural of “new“. It’s also something that has occurred in either the North, East, West , or South ( NEWS ). When flowers sprout on my lawn next week that would be news, but only for me. The only news that gets voiced is news of general interest that gets adrenalin pumping. If my sprouting flowers would turn into sci-fi body snatchers who trigger an Alien Apocalypse, then that would be news.
