Angry Scribe!

A Story by Michael Stevens
"

A story written for a 500-word-or-less competition about different emotions; gee, I wonder which emotion this is about?

"

500 words?  500 word limit, the creator of a writing contest says.  I am a little pissed about the arbitrary word limit; I mean, why not a 1,000?  At least then I could really say how angry I am at...at...oh great, now I'm so mad at this contest with it's '500 word limit', I can't even remember what I'm pissed about, and was going to describe here.  So, thanks a lot, creator; I hope you're happy!   I'm so sick of these 'limited-word' contests.  I mean, somebody sitting at their computer decides on the rules for everyone else.  I mean, does that sound fair to anyone?  I wake up all excited to check on my writing sites, and what do my tired eyes behold?  A '500-word-limit' contest.  Pa-lease!  Whatever I was going to rail about, there is no way I can even begin to describe in 500 words or less.  Someone give me a break.  If I was going to have a contest, I wouldn't put a 500-word limit on the stories.  No, that just limits creativity.  Hey, I can think of a good story; how about, "I'm pissed!  The end"; huh?  I win, contest over.  There, I guess you can vent in 500 words or less; easy.
