Can't You Just Lie?

Can't You Just Lie?

The risk of posting something online

Can You Just Lie?

You work and you work to capture a thought;

a fleeting thought that flickers past; and is gone

Really won’t mean something to anyone else

Sometimes it means nothing even to me,

but I want to get it down before it is gone permanently

Some random thought or idea I have

Once I write them into words, I post them online

Then I’ll wait for the comments to trickle in

I really want to know what others think,

But then again, I don’t; do you know what I mean?

Most comments go easy, but every once in a while

You receive one that slaps you in the face

I swear, some people go well out of their way

to rip apart what you tried your best on

Sometimes, you’re just trying something new

You’re tying to step away from your comfort zone,

but someone sees it as all that you do,

and they tear down the sandcastle you tried to build

Thanks!
loved this. a great vent penned in an articulate assertive style. And yet it offers still some vulnerability in the telling and reminds others you aint made of stone.
