In the Early Morning Hours

In the Early Morning Hours

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

My Mortal Enemy!

"

In the Early Morning Hours

In the early morning hours, I should just stay away

From my computer; for who knows what will come to light?

Strange, twisted thoughts that spring half-formed

From deep in the recesses of what’s left of my brain

Manic panic with no grip on reality,

Are printed forever on the unsuspecting page,

With no bounds to keep to the truth

Whatever my neurons decide to write,

Spills out from the dark corners where they’re kept

Hidden from view, but in the cold morning light,

They come out to play, with no common sense to stop them!
