DaydreamsA Poem by ChuckPossibly fooling myself, But I am unable to stop wishful thinking.
Indulging in a daytime reverie Triggered, When I thought I saw You, for a fraction of a second, watching me, Carefully and lovingly.
Yielding, To what I imagined You were thinking. Perhaps in awe and enamoured, With someone like me.
I continue to embrace this Head trip, While I pretend You tell me You love me while I sleep next to You, Kissing my forehead because I am the one You want.
I ache to be the one You need, And I want this to be Our love.
Contentedly watching You being everything You are, Smiling while You fall asleep. Delicately, Telling You I will always love You. Hoping and silently pleading, That my words will find their way from Your slumber into Your,
