Double Edged SwordA Poem by Molly
connection
distance love hate happiness pain why must there always be a black to the lovely shades of white the clean sheets that glow with the morning light and smell like spring. the warmth from our bodies as they cover us lightly kissing our skin. yet they feel so cold, a film of ice at night, as i lie shivering in the company of silence. why must i collect good things like they are the pennies found lucky side up on those rare, unexpected occasions when i understand theyre fleeting worth. isn't cherishing them good enough to stop the black cats from creeping up on me. why must life be a double edged sword.
