Isn't it funny?

The slow bump and grind 

that is called dancing these days,

and is the past-time for the young

when beer and heavy bass is involved.

Isn't it funny?

How over rated "parties" are

the fake smiles, caked on makeup

and sex driven attire.

but that's okay

I've heard being over rated is in right now.

Isn't it funny?

When you get looks for being the wallflower;

dancing by yourself in the corner

immersed by what the music is actually saying,

or seeing all of the interactions and intentions

with invisible eyes.

Isn't it funny?

being the one who seems to complain 

about all of this shallow behavior

when everyone has been there

done that

making it the usual, over-wrung routine

of recklessness,

flaunting "f**k yous" 

to anyone who complains.

when really, everyone is complaining

It is funny but also, to me, it is sad because their lives are so empty that they need to fill them up with distractions. Well done.
