time

and finally

one morning

she woke up

and didn’t miss him anymore

and she put cream and sugar in her coffee

instead of tears

she went to a bookstore by herself

and read the last chapter

of seventy-six novels

she threw away the cigarettes

and poured the red wine down the sink

she walked to a local café

ate lunch alone

and paid the tab for a stranger

while window shopping

she found herself staring at every pink sundress

so she bought three

and replaced the dark rags in her closet

that night

she watched the sunset from her roof

and it became a prayer

she drank vanilla tea before going to sleep

and never again did she miss him.

Dear Molly,

"Time" has the tendency to heal old wounds. The realism behind such potent writing has preserved the act of moving on. Her mind seems settled in the daily activities of routine. Recovery is an otherwise uplifting notion, and I am pleased to hear hope that is intertwined in the piece. I, for one thought the formatting of the poem helped the reader focus on the vital aspects of the poem. The images that stuck out for me was the visit to the bookstore. Subjectively, it is the one place where the mind can wonder into a narrative and return willingly.

Incredible, 19 and ordinary shut up. haha, this is excellent writing, even with the lack of structure. I do have some suggestions, try to write in a more eloquent manner for example.
