Love Is No AngelA Poem by Molly GarnetWhen you love someone You fail to see Their shortcomings and their failures Their weaknesses become their strengths Anger becomes passion She hold your fingers in her poisoned hands But your hands are black too So you are blind to her impurity You follow her smile The train in her dress You follow her dimples But the closer you follow The farther you are from who you used to be Who you would become And now her demons are your demons And you can’t even see it Quick as a blink Steep as snow You fall and it’s over You’ll never win back innocence You’ve forever lost your spark And what’s worse, You don’t care Love is no angel Love blinds and tricks and plays games Love lures and seduces Maybe I’m just cynical The broken tend to be But love has destroyed so much beauty It’s hard to believe in it’s purity She may smile your heart to pieces But sleep with an open eye Anything so beautiful Never ends without goodbye
