nothing but nothing

nothing but nothing

A Poem by Never Good Bye

it could have been just you and me

nothing but us, the wind, and the trees,

nothing but silence blanketed with snow,

nothing but grass and green meadows to mow,

nothing but happiness laced in white laughter,

nothing but banners tied up in the rafters,

nothing but salt water that runs down out cheeks,

nothing but mountains with ice covered peaks,

nothing but forest and hidden stone pathways,

nothing but you and me forever and always,

but you chose her instead of me

now together we both can never be.
