Friends

Friends

A Poem by Mercedes
"

This describes the way my friends treated me for a period of time, and often, still do.

"

I've never felt more rejected

I'm on the outside

Looking in

I'm not part of anything

I just don't belong

I try to be, but it just

Doesn't work

You say I'm a friend,

Yet you won't tell me

Anything,

Or what's going on

Even if I ask or I

Worry

I'm drowned out

By the sound of you

All laughing, enjoying

You've strangled my voice

You've cut me off

I'm silent

The way I was meant to be,

Alone, in the crowd.

WHO NEEDS FOES IF YOU HAVE SUCH GOOD (?) FRIENDS.. HOPE YOU'VE CHANGED YOUR BRAND OF PALS or
SET... I better stop.. I sound like a motha hen.... WELL, HANG IN THERE... THE POEM HOLDS SADNESS BUT WITH A NAME LIKE MERCEDES, YOU'RE STRONG ENOUGH TO OVERCOME (u were built to last).. I'm especially moved by the last part of Friends: I'm drowned out By the sound of you All laughing, enjoying You've strangled my voice You've cut me off I'm silent The way I was meant to be, Alone, in the crowd.
A very woebegone personal piece...
Thanks for sharing.
