Did You Lie?

Did You Lie?

A Poem by Mercedes
"

Questions to a someone who said something, and did a completely different thing.

"

Did you mean what you said that night?

That you’d never be angry with me

And that you’d always love me?

Were you lying to me?

I know you said you never would,

But are you sure you wouldn’t?

Not even to protect me or help me

Not even to keep me safe?

Did you really mean that you wanted to be together sometime?

Are you sure that you really want me?

Are you sure that you love me more than anything else?

Did you really mean all of it?

Don’t you hate me?

How can you love me?

Its interesting how we question the words people say and become so guarded as to not let ourselves fall victim but in the end we always breathe, we always hope and we always fall.
