Slipping

Slipping

A Poem by Mercedes
"

My feelings when I heard that my best friend was with the guy who'd dumped me earlier that day.

"

Her words slipped after my passing glance

And the unknown that you’ve uncovered

The torment and anxiety of my frantic hope

A prayer, my wish, falls on deaf ears

The blessing not received, an unkind phrase

Caring not, nor well-wishing from him

You know of mine, yet I know not yours

Cease to be ignorant, notice my plea.
