Thousand Poems

Thousand Poems

A Poem by Mollie Fitzner
"

How many poems does one have to write in order to introduce the self, share and love another?

"

Thousand Poems

If I could write a thousand poems

In a thousand words in a thousand tones,

I then could share my life in verse,

My words outlined in clear-cut terse.

My life expressed in poetry

Explains my heart so thoroughly.

Two strangers--you and I could meet

The thousand poems beneath our feet.

But O! A thousand, that's so much!

I'd not have time for work and such!

Would you please settle for a few,

And know me through close bond with you?

How eloquent and cleverly themed. I can't wait to read more of your work.
