super soul

super soul

A Poem by Mohl083
"

more than a character in vanishing point

"

it don't take no eyes to see

the burning path of a lunatic

cut across desert sands and asphalt mountains.

to drive a machine so fast

it almost grows wings

and leaves this hunk of rock for good.

it's only in pictures

that i understand what a fat f**k i've become.

the hungry claws of life

strip away the promise of days past

until the torch of eternal glory we pledged to live our lives by

was long ago snuffed in the rains of despair.

the brown water of life

that so much sanity and happiness was distilled from

now churns the humors of my stomach.

to taste everything fresh

and have it be as delicious as promised

by the liars of poetry and song

would make it all worthwhile

that some joy and satisfaction

could be wrought from a cold shell.
