I Am Also Magic

I Am Also Magic

A Poem by Mohl083
"

possibly the greatest final line to any poem i've ever heard

"

it takes balls of pure brass

to say you want to be a rotting hotdog

when you could be

a pro-athlete, an actor, or someone else

who people think makes a difference,

but this kid was on to something.

for all i know

his world is nothing short

of juice boxes and the cartoon channel,

yet he mastered this art

i struggle with every moment i practice.

a young Orson Welles

who took up the reigns

with no prior training or illusions

and crafted a timeless phrase

ingenius in it's simplicity

as if it had been perched on all our tongues

before this young bard

plucked it from the air

in order to share it with the world.

in the future

a sage mentor will gaze at this chap

with spectacled eyes

and utter,

"son, you're gonna go far,"

and the boy will merely smirk

and let the old man know

"I am also magic..."
