the early ps2 days

the early ps2 days

A Poem by Mohl083
"

it seems so long ago now...

"

remember the joy

of a windy february morning

brightened by an early departure

from the brick walls of high school.

by chance a sight longed for

for four months reached my periphereal vision.

the money fell from the wallet

as easily as paying for a turkey sandwich,

and i hurried home to spin

the purple bottomed disc of Tekken Tag

and watch in awe my cherished copy

of American Beauty.

a new reniassance was upon us.

since the crucifixition of our gray Nintendo boxes,

the world wandered blindly through a decade

of basing gameplay soley around graphics.

signs of hope appeared sporadicaly,

but the new era was upon us

when a man beat a hooker to death

with the business end of a baseball bat.

in 11 months, everything had changed.

the black box welcomed all,

and all loved the black box.

the second age had begun!
