Dans Writer Block

Dans Writer Block

A Poem by Mohl083

This must be what heaven’s like --
A lush rainforest of
Luxurious waterfalls
And trees clinging to the skies.
Rainbows loop the horizon
With colors not found
In a packet of Skittles.
I cup my hands in the
Diamond Blue rivers
And quench the thirst
That burns in my throat
Like a coal burning furnace
On an August afternoon.
Birds sing their halleluiahs
While lions and deer
Nestle beside one another
Under the shade of eucalyptus trees.
The sun warms my face
With the same radiance
Of a mother’s womb…

I find myself in a game of Tetris
A large pixilated brick
Blocks my path from paradise.
Rays of light bounce off the polished surface
Like the golden cap of the great pyramid.
The further I walk away,
The more it stares me in the face.
