The Winchester

The Winchester

A Poem by Mohl083

In my hometown,

There are no evil spirits

A diverse group of friends and I

Banded together to defeat

Years ago.

I have no memories

Of one defining moment

When we crossed the metaphorical border

From child to adult.

No, time passed

We’d get a little smarter

Then do something stupid

And so forth…

We didn’t live

Like rock songs and teen movies

Most of the time

We were just like teddy bears

Fired out of a cannon,

And wherever the hell we fell

There we stayed

Until the world around us

Made us into what we are.
