down to hadesA Poem by Mohl083i want to be well likeda traveler on another world laid out on a solemn hill watching an unknown sun set against a foreign night sky. the mind always chaotic of primeval thoughts and passions colliding into each other evolving the mind out of basic innocence. friends gathered around a table of spilt wine and bread crumbs. love slips out of loosened lips, and dangles before everyone dancing on a string. a great swirl of air and water laughing with each other. little children playing with their father's handgun. when the ocean's rise up from the earth, and take flight across the sky the devil works his magic under the disguise of god's wrath. the bellies of dead gods pour open, as we dare not look away. a dusty traveler peers at us with one eye. he laughs, for things that once were dead live again. i have tunneled into beach sand; resigned to wait forever on the cusp of evolution. lost in the thin grey line between worlds. alive and forgotten in the damp earth. einstein and jesus draw pistols at dawn. i will wait to see the victor, they point the barrells at me. © 2008 Mohl083 |
