a bump in the roadA Poem by Mohl083my old man worked hard his whole life all they ever did was give him more work..."we have the potential for one of the best years ever, nothwithstanding, a few bumps in the road..."
i could see it before it happened, and i've replayed it over in my head so many times i'm not sure if there ever was any escaping. whatever happened, it's over and done with so i'm back here talking to you from the great beyond. not quite what they call rock bottom, but close enough i can smell the cold wetness of the floor. there were too many eyes either cast on the floor as i walked by, trying to communicate some vague sympathy, or giving one last reminder that i'm better off where i'm at. in the end there was only me standing with my back to the world a freshly packed satchel in each fist. did anything matter? the comics i inked with my own blood, the five hour trips to the ER, drunken trips to 7-11 for bigbites, the two bits of advice that may help that one lost soul somewhere down the line eventually? i think i always knew it would end in this fashion. an empty pack of peanuts discarded as easily as picked up. yes, the future lies ahead as the gate behind me hinges shut with the flaming sword blocking my path from ever returning. the final polish is dry this rough chunk of rock flung into a world of chaos has finally been chisled and chipped rubbed and molded to perfection. a force too powerful to be contained by a single galaxy, but to release my energy so that the universe may be corrupted by these powers. one more rogue angel to terrorize and enlighten.
