County Fairs and Chocolate Covered BananasA Poem by Mohl083thank the maker i saved this one! love the country hoes!
The worst part: It’s walking through s**t Just to pet a goat With one grey and one blue eye. It’s sitting for forty minutes On a bushel of hay Waiting for some one hit wonder From ten years ago To show up While the guy next to you Who reeks of cigarettes and Budweiser Talks to you As if you spent time in This place isn’t even that country, But people like to pretend They grew up out of the dirt. The meaningless: Looking at some preschooler’s crayon drawing Of their pet goldfish. Vendors shilling out commemorative Elvis and Dale Earnhardt merchandise. Riding the tilt o’ whirl For the 18th consecutive year And just wishing it doesn’t come back The next year Because some traditions just need to die. The best part: Busty seventeen year old farm girls Walking around in tight blue jeans And revealing t-shirts Licking chocolate covered bananas. If you have a tarp and a truckbed Maybe you can wrangle her away From her drunken stepfather Long enough to make the damn trip Worthwhile. © 2008 Mohl083 |
