peachwolf

A Poem by aspen

misery eats away at your cheeks,
take it down like ginseng and honey now.
let it overcome you like a plague,
until you're no longer in control of what's yours.
let your heart wilt until you're able to tear out the roots
and allow foxgloves to blossom in its absence.
so that when anyone decides to purloin the love you radiate,
they recoil with the poison that drips from your fingertips and onto their tongue.

Amazing imagery! I'm in awe of the way you tangle up contrasting images into meaningful storylines. I also love the way you pick unusual words packed with meaning. The title is a good example of your strong sense of combining imagery unexpectedly! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
