andromeda

andromeda

A Poem by aspen

my body aimlessly drifts through vibrant auroras
my dizzy head is chained to the stars that surround me
blue skies and happy endings are a millennium away from me on a planet suffering from self-made disaster
the life left my eyes the moment I passed the moon and realized it was nothing more than a rock
every now and then
i think gravity will switch on and force me to keep falling into absolutely nothing for the rest of my life
i left Earth in an attempt to escape the sun
because i was terrified of getting burned again
i still see her in the distance every day
burning bright with destruction
i drift farther from her touch
and closer into the iciness of Pluto
feeling like nothing more than the never-ending aftermath of a supernova
meet me in the night sky
at the edge of Andromeda
