drain

drain

A Poem by aspen

sitting in the iris of my perspective, I rip past love letters in half
I believe in love, only because I've seen it die time after time
my heart spins on a broken record, stuck on the chorus of "Friday, I'm In Love"
memories of past experiences promise me that falling for someone new will kill me
"I Love You
Sincerely,
The B***h You Abandoned"
lust, heartlessness, pain, it's all i contain
and once i fall in love, i romanticize all the ways they could set my feelings on fire
how much creativity i would get from them tearing my heart apart
i don't dread
i expect the painful nights, the tears, the emotionless expressions
i cause it
no one breaks my heart anymore, i break my own heart
i'm sorry for not believing that anyone could ever stay in love with me and mean it
