autumn (english 2 creative writing)A Poem by aspen
The color drains from the ground
escaping beneath the soil nearly every leaf in sight departs from their native trees I swing in my hammock I take a deep breath and can smell nearby bonfires I imagine the fire crackling breathing new life into the aspects of the Earth that have left for Autumn I step down the blanket of dead leaves crunch beneath my feet the sun bleeds in through blankets of cotton candy clouds retreating for the day she kisses me goodbye with thousands of freckles upon my shoulders, "Until tomorrow."
She then vanishes on the horizon on a mission to light up the other half of the world
