To Get to You

To Get to You

A Poem by mockingbird8

I look back.
I look ahead.
I try to think of something else.
I miss the place, I love the most.
I know you will never understand.
I predict that when I go back, I'll miss you more than I should.

This is the place, caught in between.
There are two loves.
They both cannot be.
To have one,
I must lose the other.

I love you,
But I also love my home.

I never know I should do,
To get through to you.

This poem made me shade tears :(. What an amazing poem. You are such a great writer and I love your style. I wish I could be a great poet like you. :)

Home is where it's at... there's no place like home... even though we all miss the Scarecrow the most, alas he has no brains, and in that, will never understand. Yet with Wiz-granted wisdom he'll say you can't go home again. That is metaphorically true, no wonder you must end this with "I never know I should do, To get through to you." This poem makes me think, which means well done.
