Should I

Should I

A Poem by Jacqueline

Should I

Allow this experience we’ve both been
Longing to have
To do more than kiss
To go further than touching tenderness

Holding each other so tight
Never letting go while whispering odes
Of love
Your ears not hearing all the things I’m always
Thinking of

Your gentle tugging on my shirt
Eyes flirting and scanning every inch
Of exposed skin
Dare we go to that place of no return
Or do we continue to let the fires
Burn

Fears are falling down
I want so much to believe and trust
Diving in and feasting on pleasure
As long as you promise it’s not banal
Lust

Enter

Please

Take

Me

Now that my heart and soul are yours
You hold my everything inside your
Hands
I may have feelings of insecurity once
You leave me
I hope you have patience and
Understand

I’ll be waiting for your return…
I hope this won’t be a cruel lesson
For me to learn

I can say that every guy has wished that she would allow those experiences to develop into more. It took me a while to learn the fear women had with that, the risk they were taking in allowing it to just happen. This poem is truly beautiful from beginning to end. It shows the desire to step forward and it shows the fear of the outcome. Excellent.

The aftertaste of "real" and a hell of a question needing answered.

belief and trust are sometimes hard to come by. Your words excel in a discription of the chance taken.
insecurity, fear of cruel lesson, and the hope of patience and understanding... Nicely done !
