Boys Wear Blue

Boys Wear Blue

A Poem by Jacqueline
"

Unrequited

"

Boys Wear Blue

i knew
i've always had
his eyes
never searched for
anything
in mine
yet every night
we laid
side by side in
his room
i gave myself
just
to feel our legs
intertwine;
they never did

i took all the chances
sneaking out my
window
sometimes he'd be
around the corner
mostly he waited at
home
one time a guy
approached me on my
dark trek
i ran until i arrived
at his door
his fingers never traced
my tears
i shed more throughout that
night

my friends come to me for
advice
i support all that they
want and deserve
i encourage
others in my situation
to find someone who loves
them for who they are
if they only knew
my torment
how much my heart aches
i see him with his friends-
they torture me daily
at school
so macho the football team

one from the group scorches
my soul whenever we kiss in the
locker room...

i am so in love

Blue happens to be my favorite color, so of course I had to stop and read this poem. This did remind me of those innocent crushes of years ago, that wishing for some magic to spark and happen as the desire built inside without relief. The feeling of being around someone all the time and still wanting to be even closer to them. Very nice write...

there is a key observation pervasive in this work, which dances colloquial, but implies movements without having to make them.

Ah, love hurts so good. I remember the pains of such longing. Well done!
