The Enemy is You

The Enemy is You

A Poem by Jacqueline
"

Morbid love story

"

The Enemy is You

our blood intermingled from our matching
cuts
joined by flesh is this dramatic union of
us
in our room away from the horrid beauty of today
cloaked in secrecy we are this morbid pair
holed up in our morbid lair
by chance if a stranger stumbles into our path
he or she will feel the ire of our violated
wrath
anger and rage, homicidal spiritual revival
any other inquiries will be met with false
denials
why won’t the world just let us be
you and me
the connection will never break
we’ll have more than our own lives at
stake
yes, soon we will be joined by another who has
our permission
in a matter of months another life will come to
fruition
but for now we remain simple and plain a self contained
entity
fueled by obsessive love; experiments with drugs
seeping into our shared stream of
blood
the two of us, born from out matching cuts…
