Walking Alone

Walking Alone

A Poem by Jacqueline
"

Sometimes your faith is tested

"

Walking Alone

It’s been a long road

but it’s one that I’ve had

to take

I’ve seen many harrowing

things

Such ugliness that have tested

my faith

But never have I faltered

walking alone

There were hills that were

steep

There were valleys that

seemed far too deep

There were whispers that

touched my ear

Such sounds that aroused my

fears

But never have I faltered

walking alone

My feet ache

My shoulders are weary

My head is bowed down

I can feel darkness with

me

I’ve been shown a different

path

Was told there was an easier

way

The messenger only wants to

mislead me

He’s been following me hoping

I’d stray

But never have I faltered

walking alone
