Not a Counterclockwise World

Not a Counterclockwise World

A Poem by Jacqueline
"

Is this what you really want?

"

Not a Counterclockwise World

be careful what you wish
for
when you said that you wanted
me out of your life
you got exactly what you wanted
i've granted your wish and didn't
even have to think twice
you said that you didn't love me;
said that i was a dead weight
around your neck...

your burden was lifted
i'm never going to come
back

all of the pictures
where you and i were in
each other's arms
they will be destroyed
just like me
they will be your haunted memories

so,
you never remembered a time when i
made you happy
all you remember are the times i've
made you cry
so why are you here
is something tearing you apart
inside

my mother doesn't want to see your
face again
imagine your own ability to cause
others pain

i hope you feel alienated-
frustrated as watchful eyes burn deep
into your soul
a closed casket is being lowered into
the ground
all that we were will be buried within
that hole

everyone else knows about my aborted
suicide
it's best that you believe i've died
hiding in the church watching how much
you cried
still amuses me
