Bagatelle No. 1 - Julius Caesar*A Poem by mo.b_24*Some of the phrases in the poem are from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. This poem was written for a school assignment. Still imperfect, perhaps not finished. As the tempest calls back the scolding wind with cooling repentance The knotty oaks of the ship bind Ambitious ocean’s foam losing presence threatening clouds resigned Tempest unleashing no fire A gift from Heaven The Situation still dire Boldly the sailors sordidly sailed on Fearing Poseidon avenging his son wrathfully lost comrades, wailing widows, chaotic echelon Drizzled blood of soldiers upon the sea pallidly Endless blue reality vanishing to insane fantasy naive Thoughts of reaching the land of Parthenon Their graves already prepared in Hades’ Halls The sea unforgiving Yet beyond clouds, Zeus kindly calls Cursing Poseidon’s cruel deceiving blue sky and peace a lying temptress For the sea beckons a new tempest The sailors are groaning for burial they shall soon become Ethereal © 2016 mo.b_24 |
