Dog's Eye View

Dog's Eye View

A Poem by Mallory N. Young
"

This is a poem in my dog's point of view on Halloween and how she acted around the trick-or-treaters.

"
Here they come
all dressed in their costumes.
I want one too
but I'll fight them if
they try to put it on my chocolate body,
ripping it to shreds
like I would that little fairy's wings,
turning it into my chew toy.
They say I'm their little werewolf
so I'll be just that,
baring my teeth,
growl
and bark
just for the fun of it.
Did you say I was cute?
No, I'm fierce!
Come closer and I'll show you
just how "cute" I actually am.
There's that stupid doorbell again.
I run to the top of the stairs
and get into attack mode.
No demons will cross
that threshold tonight.

very cute poem! I think thats what the dog would think at that time.
I like your closing line as well, "no demons will cross the threshhold tonight."
