First KissA Poem by Mallory N. YoungThis is a poem about my first kiss
Running through the fields,
you and I thirteen-year-olds, our jeans wet from the rain earlier that day. We didn't care as we held hands going toward the I-81 bridge, our bridge. The hill underneath was high and muddy but like a real gentleman you helped me climb. At the top we stat side by side, your arm wrapped around my shoulders. At the time we knew what love was with cars hurrying over our heads. It's time to go but I wish it wasn't. You take my hand and ask to kiss me. Going scarlet I nod. I never knew a moment in time could go by in slow motion and so fast all at once. It was soft and gentle, what dreams are made of. © 2011 Mallory N. YoungAuthor's Note
