Caution TapeA Poem by MelekijeA poem from a while back. Take it as you may.
Water drops danced on the glass shower door,
As steam wrapped its self on my naked body, I could feel my eyes jumping in horror, Standing still, patiently waiting and unsteady. There was no music playing in my head, Mouth shut fighting back the urge to scream; The patterns were spelling out everything I've always avoided to understand, No matter how hard I tried I couldn't feel clean. Trying to escape the ugly reflection of truth down to the bare minimal, Hoping to drift away into peaceful slumber. Finally numb covering my eyes so no one could see me, pitiful; The dark storms running through my body has not yet satisfied it's hunger. Claustrophobic in the open mountain terrain, The contradictions that patched the roads that threw my hands off the wheel; Maybe next time there should be caution tape, To help define what's real. © 2014 Melekije |
