The Fight Between the Moon and Sun

The Fight Between the Moon and Sun

A Poem by Melekije

I stare at the moon smiling back with a condensing grin,

Making the memories dance like the ocean wind,

Feel the heart beat now burning though a sown together chest,

Fighting the emotions that grounded those broken feet to the best;

Reminiscing on long nights with a guiding light,

That moon lit path walked on into an internal mindless fight,

Eyes twinkling along with the stars reflection on the streaming bay,

Remember that night you took my breath away?

When the message was always to take it nice and easy,

Putting all the troubles beneath and learn how to breathe.

How can I breathe when the moon has stolen my breath?

I took the sun for myself since I was feeling selfish.

The mind is a maze full of twists and tremulous turns,

Down to the soul lingering for a flame that once burned,

The moon cannot shine without the power of the sun,

No wonder it’s been so dark, quite with the songs being unsung.
