One Day Portrait

 

We get all dressed up,

Fix our hair and makeup.

Make sure everyone look just right

Go to a building

With lots of lights

Different kinds of scenery

Everyone gets lined up

To where it looks just right

A light is flashed

You hear a click

A picture has beed taken

Then one to two weeks later

You get a package in the mail

The picture of that one day

You hang it on the wall for all to see

Through generation after generation

Then one day

After we're gone

Someone will look up

At that certain picture

And in their eyes

You are still alive

Living through that picture

The picture that captures you

On that one special day.
