Chance

Chance

A Poem by Jen

Chance

I don't know what to think,

Even though I think all the time.

My only problem is you.

We have a good friendship,

Do we want more?

You say you love me,

And I believe you.

I say I love you,

And you believe me.

So what is holding us back?

How long can we be

Friends and nothing more?

We deny our feelings,

Pushing them out of the way.

Is that the right thing to do?

Are we willing to chance

Our great friendship

For something possibly greater?

Being together just could be

Better than being just friends.

What have we got to lose?

Is our friendship strong enough

To withstand a relationship?

In case it doesn't last

Awar between couple and friends

Will surely arise

And if we don't take that chance

Of being more then friends

Would it help us more then hurt us?

Make us wonder, make us wish

That something did develop

These are the questions

Where I constantly dwell

Neverending, never ceasing

The last and only thing to do

Is to take the inevitable chance.
