when desolation takes over

when desolation takes over

A Poem by mnisha
"

When desolation takes over, it’s no sin to seek relief!

"

When desolation takes over

Urged to unlearn all optimism, as years passed,

A paradigm-shift , that struck aghast…

I’m surrounded by infinitely vast empty space,

With Memories of yester-love wandering in a maze..

Desperate to bestraddle death forewith,

Over to a new world, where perishing’d be myth.

Mystery prevails though of what’s beyond….

At least far from this turpitude, I’ll be gone!

"Will it heave forever? "I wonder….

As desolation takes over!

All night long, gazing at the orb,

As my wish transforms into a strong throb..

You might call it cowardice, I would’ve agreed too..

But all tidings of life, now that I’ve been through,

I want to be free !.. I just want to leave!

When desolation takes over, it’s no sin to seek relief!

Very strong and emotional piece. Your last line is a great one.

I really enjoyed the last line, the sense of reassurance it has. Its not cowardice to want relief from persistent desolation. I liked your word choice in this as well.
