Take Me To The MoonA Poem by Madison NicoleShort story poems for children - Bedtime Story*Dedicated to my son Easton Pittman " May your imagination run wild & your dreams be fulfilled.* _________________________
Up, up, up and away we go, Upwards to the moon 1, 2, 3 in a row!
Flying so high past planets and stars, "Mother, did you know it would be this far?”
"Yes my dear the moon is far, that is why we cannot drive the car.”
"Father, Father do you see the moon?” "Yes son, we will be there soon.”
My eyes are gleaming with delight and excitement, as earth behind us began to grow silent.
As we traveled so high up into the sky, The moon began to grow, bigger and bigger.
Finally! We have reached the moon! I just knew we would be there soon!
We bounced and sang in the craters about, But when it became time to leave, I started to pout.
"Mother, mother, why must we leave?” "Why dear we must go home, please do not grieve.”
So we went down downwards back to earth, Past the planets and stars once again.
Once we reached home my mommy tucked me in. “Mother, mother can we do that again?”
"Yes dear, we can. But this was only but a dream. I know it felt real or so it seemed.”
I turned out my light and thought to myself, "My oh my, what an awesome night.”
The End.
