Why Men and Women Do as they Do

Why Men and Women Do as they Do

A Story by Dave Potter
"

This begins with a man's view of what drive men to act as they do. I invite women to fill in the rest. Thank you.

I’m requesting women to finish this story.

An alien race has been observing humans for a long time and still they are unable to figure out what drives humans to act as they do. They decide to intervene. They take one man and one woman, place them in individual classrooms of aliens and separately have the man and the woman explain why they do as they do.

The Man:

Men have an instinctive drive for survival. Once food, shelter, water, air, and health are taken care of, a hunger develops. Men develop a hunger for procreation, companionship, and a sense of purpose.

If the demands for procreation, companionship, and a sense of purpose are not met, the hunger becomes a starvation.

Starvation leads to desperation. Men become so desperate to satisfy their starvation that they will risk a lifetime of shame, a life in prison, or even death.

The most common way to overcome this starvation is to meet women, have sex, and be a hearty provider.

Women have a monopoly over men for they are the only ones that can truly satisfy this starvation.

Men with extreme discipline can resist temptations and may resort to performing physiological acts to simulate supplying their demands even though that never satisfies the hunger. It just takes the edge off.

In order to maintain respectability for themselves and others, most men do not force satisfying their hunger. They perform rituals that are not enjoyable to them. They play the fool’s role by complementing those who do not deserve it, watching shows and plays that are not enjoyable, dancing, and even going to extremes and entering a contract of being faithful, with the hopes of satisfying their hunger without playing the fool.

Once the contract is signed, however, men must play the fool even more because the contract states that only one person is allowed to supply relief from this hunger. And when that person is not hungry themselves, they do not feel the despair and anguish that is developing in their mate.

Then comes LOVE.

Love is not a hunger for men. Love is thrust upon them. Once love becomes part of the equation, love trumps all other hungers and in many cases even basic survival necessities.

If love is deep enough, men will give all, including life itself, for those whom they love.

The Woman:

***Women, fill in your response in the review section. I look forward reading to your responses. Thank you.***

Hello and thank you for reading my profile. I've always enjoyed writing, or better yet, expressing my thoughts through humorous 'faction' while stating underlying messages. Ironically, I do not.. more..
