Until then

Until then

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

Thought I’d write you

You’re heavy on my heart

I miss you like a drowning man

Misses his last breath

 You’re my heart

My air

Suffocating in this room

 full of air

I want you beside me

Need your words that guide me

  I close my eyes

Listen for your breath

As it slowly says…I am here...

That is when

I’ll take a deep breath

Taking your breath with me

  Until then I’ll suffocate here

In an empty room full of air

I like the thoughts in the poem. Memories can make us think and stay awake wishing for someone. I like the strong ending to the poem. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

(Melody:)
'Til then, my darling, please wait for me;
'Til then, no matter when it will be.
One day we'll be together again - please wait 'til then

Our dreams will live though we are apart;
Our love I know will keep in our hearts.
'Til then, please think of me lovingly, and wait for me.
