Growing PainA Poem by Kimberly "Melody" CarneyI write to heal and to think...I found a maple leaf withered on the ground
As I picked it up it simply crumbled in my hand
Oh how fragile this life is were ever life is found
All life will fade regardless of how small or grand
Looking away from the leaf then I look to the tree
The Maple tree stood; tall, strong and rooted deep
I see the shedding of change is falling slowly free
For the leaves that fall the Maple does not weep
How death does comes in so many different ways
Sometimes to grow in life, death is simply change
I see more clearly now that the Leaf is like my days
Hold not to the past and embrace the growing pains
