The UnwantedA Poem by Kimberly "Melody" CarneyThis is not a poem on technical terms...most of mine are not, yet this is how I write ;)Dust is but a fragile substance That- but a breath can blow away Yet dust is what we came from Just in a more interknit way We tossed aside the unwanted Their heads all hung in shame Soon they bind together strong Making their-selves a name They shout it from the roof-tops Make banners to proclaim The simple truth that built them Their strength shows in their name Not bound by fickle imagery Un-judged for who they are Free to learn by open mistakes Gaining wisdom above the bar Shunned from the clean and wealthy-- Kept them safe from fears do harm For they never feared rejections voice Now here there standing arm in arm Who are the brave and valiant ones Once tossed by their very own kind They have a simple name but strong They are called simply the… freed mind © 2013 Kimberly "Melody" CarneyFeatured Review
