Cat and Mouse

This life is so much more than this--

game of cat and mouse you like to play.

I see the traps you lay for me--

then wait to see me fall.

Funny thing is I know how this ends--

while you hide and wait for me to fall,

I’ll spread my wings and fly.

I am better than this!

I will always rise above the pain inflicted by those that say they love me. I will always see the traps they lay as they hope to see me fall. I will spread my wings and fly above as they are busy looking to the ground, for I am better than this, better than this game they play…for my heart was made from the pieces of my past broken hearts and molded as the burning tears fell from mine eyes to create what I am now. I will fly, I will rise and I will love so much better…that’s who I am
