Sweet taste of victory

Sweet taste of victory

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

winter3

I dream a dream of a better life

I will make it come true

I do not have to believe in myself

I just simply have to prove

all my fears and doubts untrue

the sweet taste of victory

 I long for

the sweet taste

 will purge my mouth

from the taste of sweat and tears

I will have on my tongue for years

a journey on this path to dreams

is not an easy road

it is        my passion

it is       my dream

and it’s worth every burden load

This is a beautiful piece, and I found I could connect to it much more potently because of how eerily similar it is to the mind and situation of a main character I am currently writing.
A beautifully described struggle, and the wonderful feeling of a struggles worth. =]

If we are all alone in this world, if we are alone, if alone ,then it is just ,I .
in the wilderness of choice.

Have to mention the first thing I saw here - What a stunning picture! The frozen chill and cold leaving the world white blue and gray.

Your poem touches my heart. The passion and desire for the dream you have comes through in every line, and with such a deep need of it you can surely overcome your doubts and fears. This inspires me, it is not a cheering rally poem, but a heartfelt, tender, honest self-talk.

I have been accused of giving non-constuctive reviews. But your poetry is
as delightsome as it is thoughprovoking. The greatest review there is, is
to say it gave you pleasure..Than you for sharing and for being here among us.

your biggest fan, dana.
