Journeys Way

Journeys Way

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney
"

I write to free my soul, to give a glimps of me. I follow no rules when writting, it's what sets me free.

"

MonarchAster_JC

A butterfly landed on me,

I never get lost for too long.

As I watched the bird in the tree,

it’s pure unforgettable song.

Nature has a way to call me;

it shows me my soul is not wrong.

I listen, for it sets me free,

there will be a day of new dawn.

Follow me on this journeys way,

Misty waters cool your soul.

The end will be a brand new day;

the earth bares food to make us whole.

Follow the mother deer and foal,

Be careful what you do and say,

Look deep in the earth like the mole,

Or the colors will turn all grey,

I’m a soul within this frame

Simplicity is what I seek

Wisdom will be my only claim

I’ll be full of knowledge, yet meek

~Melody

I really have a strong love of nature poems. One of my favorites is by Alfred Lord Tennyson "The Brook". From the sounds of this poem, you'd probably appreciate it as well. I found it when I was a little girl in an antique book that my mother ended up giving me years later. This poem runs along the same emotional wavelength that that one does. Just enough calm to lull me into sleep I think. I can fall asleep with the images behind my eyelids and share this with my hubby in my dreams. :) Lovely imagery I think.

I love the nature poems you construct, because they are elegant, powerful, flow smoothly, and always have a point, or deeper meaning to them. I love the line, "Follow the mother deer and foal," because it just seems so magical!
