Today is a Beautiful Day!

Today is a Beautiful Day!

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

wouren and worthe

Today was a beautiful day!

Who could ask for more?

My heart still beating within me,

Just the same as before.

Two hands to hug my healthy kids,

Two feet that hit the floor.

Each second that I complain,

As if life is a chore,

I stop and think of those with less;

Unsure if they will eat,

No longer have freedom to walk,

Just mocked by their two feet.

Some live in countries, they can’t pray,

Told what to do and say.

Some beaten by the ones they love,

And children run away.

Today is a beautiful day!

A day I’ll make a change!

I’ll take some clothes the kids won’t wear,

And give them all away.

Before dinner tonight we will,

Serve the homeless a meal.

I’ll share my story to each of them,

In hopes that they may heal.

I’ll speak to the woman beaten,

And tell her of my day,

Hope that she’ll believe in herself,

And build a brand new way.

My life is not my own in ways,

With this I am at peace,

This world is just a big puzzle,

I am but a piece.

Today is a Beautiful Day!

~Melody

Indeed it was a good day, and many more are to come, I love this and can relate on so many levels, from being homeless with an alcoholic mother to later in life have the blessing to be able to feed and help clothe the less fortunate. Our life is not only ours we are only a piece, I love this poem! Wonderfully written! You have a humble heart, God bless you!

What a positive and upbeat poem! It frames the key to happiness, namely, to focus our interests on helping other people. By doing so our own problems and cares fade into the background. Loving self-sacrifice is what the world needs more of.

I can't fully express in words how amazing this poem truly is. I am simply blown away by the gravity/power someone can take from this piece. Wonderful and insightful poem!

This poem offers such inspiration!
"Who could ask for more?"
I respect this thought process you share in such a caring way, as you see the beauty of compassion and gratitude in this poem.
To persevere during times we feel faint in body, or distressed from earthly issues.
To love, as we have been so richly blessed, to treat all with compassion, and understanding. Most especially those that are in need of what most take for granted;
clothing, shelter, and food.
This poem shares the real spirit of Positive Unconditional Love.

"Today is a Beautiful Day!"
Yes it is! Hope in each New Day , "Very Nice ~ Namaste

Yes it is a beautiful day if you think of what some have to live through, this reminds me of the Phil Collins song 'Another Day in Paradise'

I like this one. I see how the main character appreciates her life and therefore she wants to share her happiness with others.
